See the exact gate that stops your application.
RoleMetric models the path a resume actually travels: parsing, minimum qualifications, ranking signals and recruiter review. Each one is scored separately, so a rejection is never a single mysterious number.

Four gates, scored separately
A single percentage hides the reason it was earned. RoleMetric reports each stage on its own, with the evidence that produced it, so you know whether the problem is formatting, a hard requirement, or how the experience is worded.
- Parsing: whether the layout survives conversion to plain text
- Minimum qualifications: required items weighted on their own
- Ranking signals: the terms a recruiter is likely to search for
- Recruiter review: what a ten-second human read would notice
Conservative by default
The estimate is deliberately strict. An unsupported requirement counts as unsupported, adjacent experience never gets promoted to an exact match, and the confidence level is reported alongside the verdict rather than buried.
- Exact evidence scores higher than adjacent experience
- Every risk cites the requirement that created it
- Confidence is stated with the verdict, not implied
Tuned to how strictly you want to be judged
The screening model has multiple strictness settings. A tighter setting surfaces more risk earlier; a lighter one focuses on material gaps. No setting will ever invent a qualification you do not have.
- Strictness applies to every future scan in your workspace
- The active model is named on every report
- Scores are reproducible for the same resume and role
How it runs
- 1Add the role
Import a public job link or paste the full description.
- 2Add your resume
Upload a PDF or DOCX, or paste the text directly.
- 3Read the verdict
Each gate reports its own status, detail and evidence.
Questions people ask first
Is this the same as the employer's real ATS?
No. RoleMetric estimates how a resume may be read against a specific job description. It is not connected to any employer's applicant tracking system and cannot see knockout questions, private ranking rules, or a recruiter's judgement.
What does the alignment score actually measure?
It measures how much of the role's stated requirements are supported by verifiable evidence in your resume, weighted so that required qualifications matter more than preferred ones.
Why is my score lower than on other resume checkers?
Most checkers reward keyword presence. RoleMetric requires evidence behind the keyword, so a skill listed without any supporting experience does not earn a full match.
