RoleMetric accesses the active job page when you open the Extension or request detection.
You retain ownership of resumes and job materials you are permitted to submit.
Match scores and ATS outcomes are informational and cannot guarantee an employer decision.
The main RoleMetric Terms of Service also apply, including the provisions for accounts, subscriptions, AI output, disclaimers, liability, and governing law.
Use detection only on pages you may lawfully access. The Extension must not be used to bypass authentication, paywalls, technical restrictions, or another person's rights.
These browser-specific terms are incorporated into the general RoleMetric Terms of Service.
These Chrome Extension Supplemental Terms (“Extension Terms”) govern your use of the RoleMetric Job Scanner Chrome extension operated by Astyne LLC (“Astyne,” “RoleMetric,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). They supplement the RoleMetric Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By installing or using the Extension, you agree to the RoleMetric Terms of Service and these Extension Terms. If these Extension Terms conflict with the general Terms solely regarding the Extension, these Extension Terms control.
01Extension Function
The Extension helps you collect a job description from the active page, compare it with a resume you choose, view an evidence-based match analysis, and open related RoleMetric reports or workspaces. It is a career-assistance tool and not an employer, recruiter, applicant tracking system, or hiring decision-maker.
02User-Initiated Page Access
You authorize the Extension to access the active page when you open RoleMetric or request detection. You are responsible for reviewing detected text and confirming that it represents the job you intend to analyze. You may paste or edit the description when automated detection is incomplete.
You may use the Extension only on pages and content you are legally permitted to access. You must not use it to circumvent authentication, access controls, paywalls, robots, technical restrictions, or the rights of a website or another person.
03Your Resumes and Content
You retain ownership of resumes, job descriptions, prompts, edits, and other content you provide. You grant RoleMetric and its service providers the limited rights necessary to transmit, store, parse, analyze, reproduce, and display that content to operate, secure, and improve the requested RoleMetric features, as described in the RoleMetric Terms and Privacy Policy.
You represent that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not contain malware or violate law or another person's rights. Do not upload information that is unnecessary for the scan, including Social Security numbers, financial credentials, or government identification numbers.
04Guest Access and Accounts
RoleMetric may offer one eligible guest Extension scan without an account. Guest availability is subject to technical and abuse-prevention limits and may change. Additional scans, saved resumes, workspace history, or full reports may require a RoleMetric account or paid plan.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and device. Disconnect the Extension on a shared device when finished. Removing the Extension does not delete your RoleMetric account, cancel a subscription, or erase content already stored in your workspace.
05Scores, AI Output, and Employment Decisions
Match rates, ATS estimates, keyword findings, recommendations, tailored materials, and other outputs are proprietary informational estimates. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a particular employer. They do not guarantee that an employer's system will parse or rank a resume similarly, and they do not guarantee an interview, offer, or employment outcome.
You are responsible for reviewing every output, preserving truthful claims, and deciding whether to use a recommendation. RoleMetric does not submit applications or make employment decisions for you.
06Third-Party Job Sites
Job boards and employer websites are independent third parties. Their availability, markup, terms, and technical behavior may change without notice, so detection may sometimes be incomplete or unavailable. RoleMetric is not endorsed by or affiliated with a job site merely because the Extension can read a posting there.
Your use of a third-party site remains governed by that site's terms and privacy policy. RoleMetric is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, hiring practices, or decisions.
07Acceptable Use
You may not misuse the Extension, reverse engineer it except where law expressly permits, probe or bypass security, automate scans at abusive scale, evade guest or plan limits, upload malicious or unlawful material, interfere with other users, impersonate another person, or use RoleMetric to make deceptive or fabricated employment claims.
08Availability and Changes
The Extension depends on Chrome, third-party websites, network connectivity, RoleMetric infrastructure, authentication, document processing, and artificial-intelligence providers. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update, limit, suspend, or discontinue functions to maintain security, comply with policy or law, address technical changes, or improve the Service.
Chrome may install Extension updates automatically through the Chrome Web Store. Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Extension Terms to the extent permitted by law.
09Privacy and Permissions
The RoleMetric Chrome Extension Privacy Notice explains the information the Extension accesses, permissions it requests, how information is processed, retention, deletion, and Chrome Web Store Limited Use compliance. By using the Extension, you acknowledge that Notice and the main RoleMetric Privacy Policy.
10Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Extension at any time by disconnecting it and removing it from Chrome. We may suspend Extension or account access when reasonably necessary to protect security, prevent abuse, enforce these Terms, comply with law, or protect RoleMetric and its users.
11Disclaimers and Liability
The warranty disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, governing law, dispute provisions, and other general terms in the RoleMetric Terms of Service apply to the Extension. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Extension is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a guarantee of job-page detection, analysis accuracy, compatibility, availability, interviews, or employment outcomes.
